Quantum Information Science (QIS) is an emerging field of science and technology, encompassing and building upon the disciplines of computer science, mathematics, physics, nanotechnology, and engineering. It aims at understanding and demonstrating how quantum phenomena can be harnessed in order to dramatically advance the fundamental capabilities of information processing devices.
